Bulgaria

abandoned buzludzha bulgaria

March was cold in Bulgaria. It was raining a lot and on the higher grounds we were facing some heavy snowfall. But that didn't bring us down. It's going to be an adventure, we said at the beginning and so it was. We had to leave the car behind and took the last kilometers by foot. There it was, covered in clouds and ice: Buzludzha. A small hole in the icy ground was our starting point to one of the most impressive location I've seen in a while. Bulgaria, you got us. A country in grey and brown, abandoned buildings nearly around every corner and the sun barely visible - but with warm-hearted people and extremely good food. Good reasons to come back.
